Application
SGD-A10/710C
Overview
Standard 10-point gas dividers that accurately blend a calibration gas of known concentration with a diluent gas in up to 10 steps plus zero. SGD-A10 and SGD-710C reduce the number of gas cylinders needed to calibrate a gas analyzer to just two: one with an upscale component gas and the other with a diluent gas.
Both gas dividers are non-bleeding and feature accuracy of 0.5 percent of upscale concentration.
Features
SGD-A10, a standard 19-inch rack-mountable gas divider, features:
- Operation via computer control - ideal for automatic operation at emission-test facilities.
- Compliance with EPA requirements.
- Front panel pushbuttons, enabling the user to:
- Set division points (11)
- Switch between air and N2 as a diluent gas
- Enact one-touch purging
SGD-710C, a portable standard gas divider, features:
- Easy transport
- Tough casing that protects flow meter and main unit
- Simple knob-selector setting
- No power requirement
Features:
- Comply with U.S. EPA requirements.
- Blend gases at a precision of 0.5% of upscale concentration.
- Eliminate need to store a large number of gas cylinders.
- Are easy to use with push-button (SGD-A10) or knob selector (SGD-710C) control
- Are non-bleeding.
- Can supply 4L/min to any exhaust-gas analyzer (HORIBA and non-HORIBA).
- Can be computer controlled for automated calibration (SGD-A10 only).
Principle
Using the capillary flow-rate mixing method, SGD gas dividers blend component and diluent gases to produce 10 different concentrations plus zero. Both models include:
- Precision pressure regulator
- Selector
- 10 calibrated capillaries with identical flow characteristics
The pressure regulator equalizes the pressure of the component gas (Pc') and diluent gas (Pd) entering the selector.
The selector determines the blending ratio of the two gases. For example, if the selector is set to 3, the component gas is introduced into three capillaries while diluent gas flows through the remaining capillaries. This forms a standard gas with three-tenths the initial concentration of the component gas.
Diluent-gas pressure (Pd) determines the output flow rate of the standard gas.
