DAR-1400/2200

Overview

Reduces levels of THC, CO and NOx in background air before it flows into the CVS. Ambient air is: 

  • Drawn into the system and heated to a controlled temperature
  • Passed through a two-stage catalyst converter system
  • Cooled through a heat exchanger
  • Passed through a NOx oxidizing agent and activated charcoal
  • Now, as purified air, piped to the remote mixing tee where it is mixed with the exhaust

Two models provide a choice of maximum flow rate -14Nm3/min (494 SCFM) or 22Nm3/min (780 SCFM).

Features

  • Facilitates measurement of SULEV-level exhaust gas with greater accuracy.
  • Refines dilution air:
    • HC < 0.1 ppm.
    • CO < 0.1 ppm
    • NOx < 0.1 ppm 
  •  Maximum flow rate may be switched to three preset lower flow rates.

Application 

Purifies ambient air for SULEV-level emissions testing.

Options

Dehumidifier - Reactive Wheel Type

Supplies dehumidified air to the DAR. Connected to the inlet of the DAR system, it includes a:

  • 30% effective pre-filter
  • Pre-cooling coil
  • Desiccant dehumidifier
  • Supply blower with 1 HP TEFC high efficiency motor
  • HEPA final filter section
  • Single point power connection for starters and disconnect, control voltage transformer
  • Gravity pressure recirculation system to control discharge pressure at all flow rates below
    200 Pa

Valve Switching at Remote Mixing Tee

Two valves installed at the Remote Mix Tee allow switching between the supply of DAR air and ambient air. Available with manual or automatic valves.

Valve Switching in System Ductwork

Three valves installed in the system interconnecting ductwork allow switching between four different sources of supply air.

Air Purge Pump

Uses DAR air to purge the bag and sample lines. Pump is provided in a separate enclosure with required plumbing and interconnections.
