1. The SEPA-500 offers ultra-fast response, enabling measurement at a maximum speed of 60°/sec.

The response speed is over ten times faster than our conventional SEPA-300; the measurement speed of the SEPA-500 overwhelms those of our competitors. With conventional models, rotation angle measurement of about 80° took slightly less than 20 seconds, but with the SEPA-500, this just takes two or three seconds.

2. The SEPA-500 is the first in the polarimeter to adopt a hollow shaft motor.

The hollow shaft motor is used in the rotating mechanism of the analyzer. The conventional SEPA-300 is comprised of an analyzer attached to a worm wheel, a worm gear rotating this wheel, and a motor that rotates the gear.

With an extremely simple structure, the SEPA-500 has simultaneously improved the response speed and the angle accuracy.

3. The SEPA-500 is very compact and light weight.

The size of the SEPA-500 has been reduced by about 30% compared to the SEPA-300, and weight by about 37% (SEPA-300: approx. 35 kg, SEPA-500: approx. 13 kg). The required foot print has been also reduced from 565 mm x 445 mm to 490 mm x 250 mm, a reduction of over 50%. Now the SEPA-500 can be carried around and installed by one person.

4. LED-based Light Source

The light source of the SEPA-500 is a long lifetime, high-intensity LED. The stable LED light source, which emits less noise compared to a sodium discharge lamp, works in conjunction with high-performance interference filters.

5. The SEPA-500 can also display the purity of sugar (Brix scale).

The SEPA-500 also provides the International Sugar Scale which is required to support various demands from the sugar industry.
