HORIBA CONCEPT conference 2018

CONCEPT Conference 2018 in Dresden, Germany from March, 22nd to March 23rd, 2018

Shape the future of mobility and transportation together with automotive industry experts!
Discuss the upcoming challenges, including future emission requirements such as RDE and the need
for up-to-date testing methods.
Join us at the 4th HORIBA CONCEPT Europe conference, organized in cooperation with the Dresden University of Technology.

The automotive industry is facing the biggest challenges in its history. Not only tightened emission laws on a global scale but also new technologies such as hybrid/electric drivetrains, new materials, advanced driver assistance systems or automated driving necessitate new development and testing concepts of vehicles and the involved infrastructure. In order to overcome some of the hurdles, the automotive industry is cooperating with universities, research institutes and governmental organizations on a large scale. Experts from different domains are working together to shape transportation and to bring it into the next century.

Increase your knowledge about the upcoming challenges of the automotive industry and discuss the following topics with industry experts:

Future Emission Requirements and Legislation

Interest in measurement principles for non-combustion particles such as brake wear or tires is continously increasing and leads to new targets and challenges in this field.

Testing Methods for alternative propulsion technologies

Development and testing of new propulsion technologies require a whole set of new measurement methods and procedures. Some of the measurement principles are well known for laboratory applications but are up to now not well known within the automotive domain. Which new measurement principles can be used to support the development and testing of components such as batteries and fuel cells in the future?

Integration of real and virtual testing

The need to cut development cost and development time, together with growing experience in simulation techniques facilitates hybrid methods, such as Xin-the-loop, and combined simulation and testing. This presents some challenges, such as data consistency, comparability of results, integration into complex development processes, etc. All these topics, including upcoming challenges and targets, are currently under consideration by manufacturers.
