HORIBA Group will correspond to issues on conflict minerals(*1) with engaging in consultation with our suppliers and customers. Through the annual survey based on the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative reporting format (CMRT), HORIBA cooperates to ensure complete compliance with the law.
*1. The export of minerals from the target areas has become the source of income for armed insurgents and anti-government organizations. Because of this, and to execute Article 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, 2010, the U.S. Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) adopted a rule in August 2012 to request listed American companies to disclose information on conflict minerals (gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten produced in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding nine countries).
*2. Conflict minerals (gold, tin, tantalum, tungsten)are minerals extracted from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or its adjoining countries.
