HORIBA Jobin Yvon Inc., a leading manufacturer of scientific instruments, has an opening in its Edison, NJ location for an experienced and dynamic Applications Scientist. The successful candidate will offer pre and post sales support for customers with respect to instrumentation and customers’ applications.

• Assisting sales and service in their interactions with prospects and users.
• Giving informal and formal presentations at events and scientific meetings.
• Performing demonstrations and user training in the field.
• Managing some Fluorescence products including marketing and business development, defining and coordinating hardware and software improvements with internal and external resources, and proposing and bringing next generation instruments to market.
• Discovering and developing new applications for our instruments.

• Minimum of five years total applications and product management experience with at least three years product management in a commercial scientific instrumentation company.
• Experience must include support for fluorescence instrumentation and a track record of product development management.
• Must have some experience doing business internationally.
• Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
• BS degree or higher in a scientific field, masters or PH.D preferred.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional multi-week trips and international trips.
