GD PROFILER HTP – A New Elemental Analysis Tool for Heat Treatment Process Control

HORIBA Jobin Yvon has developed a turnkey product for evaluating the quality of the heat treatment process. This product, the GD PROFILER HTP, is the result of more than 30 years of experience in glow discharge spectrometry (GDS). GDS provides rapid depth profiles of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and other elements to better control heat treatment processes. The chemical composition complements the mechanical tests usually made in the metallurgical industry. The targeted applications are notably automotive parts, gears, windmills, etc. The GD PROFILER HTP will be available in February 2009.
