SWIFT™ Ultra Fast Raman Imaging
SWIFT™ Raman imaging couples the high optical throughput of the HORIBA Scientific Raman systems with high speed detector-stage coordination to make millisecond Raman mapping a reality. Detailed Raman maps can now be acquired on second/minute timescales with integration times down to 1ms and below. SWIFT™ retains the true confocal performance of the HORIBA Scientific Raman systems, thus ensuring optimised spatial resolution for analysis of small particles and thin layers.
Fast Raman imaging offers many advantages to the user:
- Acquisition times reduced by orders of magnitude without compromise in image quality.
- Macro areas (centimeters) can now be analysed with micro resolution.
- Large pixel size images (1 megapixel and more) are now possible in a single fast Raman map, providing both a broad overview and detailed high resolution work in a single experiment.
- Time resolved Raman imaging – with a full image acquired in just a few seconds, chemical reactions such as polymer curing occuring on minute/hour timescales can now be imaged.
SWIFT™ can be used in conjunction with other novel technologies to offer unrivalled Raman imaging capabilities:
The DuoScan™ technology introduces a revolutionary method enabling fast, sub-micron Raman imaging, and adaptive laser spots for average measurements over a large area. The combination of SWIFT™ and DuoScan™ allows fast macro-mapping with 100% coverage of the sample.
Electron multiplying CCD technology coupled with the high throughput of HORIBA Scientific Raman systems offers significant increases in sensitivity. The increased sensitivity afforded by the electron amplification processes of the EMCCD yields reduced acquisition times without compromise in signal to noise.
SWIFT™ is suitable for use with all lasers from UV through to near infra-red. It is compatible with all HORIBA Scientific systems, either at time of purchase, or as a retro-fittable upgrade.
