Field Service - Biomedical / Medical Technologist

Our Field Service Representative (FSR) will cover mid-central and southwest California along with Southern Utah and Nevada. Our FSR provides on-site service, maintenance and Systems Integration Customer Training of HORIBA Medical instrumentation. This position requires specialized training, travel, a current and valid passport and driver's license. Our FSR repairs laboratory instrumentation using controlled documentation, schematics, diagrams and is also responsible for the correlation, verification and validation of any new applications as is demanded by the market.

To be successful, a HORIBA Field Service Representative:

  • Requires the ability to follow oral instructions and communicate effectively on the telephone
  • Works on problems of moderate to complicated scope where analysis of situation or data requires review of several unknown or identifiable factors
  • Exercises judgment within procedures and policies to determine best and appropriate action
  • Travels to and provides on-site technical assistance to customers experiencing a diagnostic or instrumentation. Travel may be extensive, encompassing both domestic and foreign
  • Responsible for on-site systems integration and guidance, implementing the sales applications and training on the individual instrument/system
  • Requires a high degree and proficiency in clinical and technical aspects of chemistry and the instruments used for analysis, in order to train other skilled clinicians and technicians in the hospital, lab or physicians’ office
  • Requires strict discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information and documents

Desired Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory studies; Registered Medical Technologist; Medical or Laboratory Technologist with hematology and chemistry laboratory experience
  • Requires 2 to 3 years of Field Service experience on Hematology and Chemistry or related equipment
  • Requires capability to assess normal safety hazards directly related to this position
  • Requires training or proof of previous training regarding hematology, chemistry, safety, and contracts
