HORIBA Instruments Inc. has an opening in the Irvine, California area for a SLFA Product Line Manager.  This individual must have a very strong background in Elemental Analysis from a tech nical marketing and sales perspective.  This position requires total responsibility for this growing product line. Five to ten years experience with a competitors's products would be essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establishes and communicates priorities and goals to product line team.
  2. Coordinates with applications and service team to ensure customer needs and questions are addressed.
  3. Manages the business activities of the product line to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  4. Works with applications and R&D to develop products that meet or exceed customer’s expectations.
  5. Serves as primary contact for technical and business issues related to product line.
  6. Works with Sales Manager/Vice President to develop effective sales strategies that define products and services the company can provide in order to achieve a profitable, long-term relationship with the customer.
  7. Promotes exchanges of ideas that would enhance performance, reduce cost and/or lead times.
  8. Provides support for sales and marketing management activities including visiting customers, analyzing customer needs, and recommending solutions.
  9. Actively supports ISO 9000 efforts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
