TBX

Overview

The TBX is a compact single-photon detection module containing all the electronics necessary to detect single photons with picosecond accuracy.  The module contains a fast rise-time photomultiplier (PMT), wide bandwidth GHz pre-amplifier, picosecond constant fraction discriminator (CFD) and regulated high voltage supply, all in one compact, fully integrated package.

The TBX is the first, and only, product to integrate all of the above functions into one module.  The casing is machined from metal and gold-plated to achieve the highest level of electromagnetic shielding.  Optical coupling is via a custom 40mm bayonet which allows easy interchange while still providing a light-tight seal.

There are three different models available for the TBX series of photon detection modules; TBX-650, TBX-850C and TBX-900C.  The TBX-850C and TBX-900C have extended red sensitivity and are thermoelectrically cooled.  

Due to its high level of integration, the TBX is an easy retrofit to existing systems and is easer to use than a SPAD module because the active detection area is many times bigger.
