The US Gov’t released in Feb-2009 a Healthcare Stimulus package totaling a near $147.7 billion.
Among the provisions for healthcare spending were:
• $87B new spending for Medicaid programs
• $20B helping doctors and hospitals implement Health IT (Information Technology) initiatives
• $2B grant funding for community health center
HORIBA Medical is poised to support a major focus of this initiative related to EMR-ready instrumentation.
Our solution is offering a middleware system, Micros IM², designed to streamline patient data storage from any of our hematology analyzers, In addition, a recent release of a multi-analyzer version “Genesis4” – each of which place the effort in reducing chances for error, helping to improve efficiencies and reduce redundant testing when access to patient data is accessible no matter where the geography of the patient.
The EMR/EHR initiative driven by the Health IT forum will act to “bonus” those physician office laboratories who implement such systems beginning 2011. HORIBA Medical is joining other manufacturers who are sensitive to providing “EMR-ready” diagnostic capabilities for this very exciting future in Health IT. Our Micros IM² is an affordable and user-friendly solution to help meet these demands.
