Glow Discharge Spectrometers - Ultra Fast Elemental Depth Profiling

HORIBA Jobin Yvon provides spectrometers for the surface, depth profile and bulk analysis of both conductive and non-conductive samples with Radio Frequency Glow Discharge sources (RF-GD-OES). It is an extremely fast technique and easy to operate.

GDS is the ideal tool to investigate from the surface down to more than 150 microns with a depth resolution that can be as good as 1 nm.

Patented HDD (High Dynamic range Detection) used in the HORIBA Jobin Yvon GD instruments allows real time, automatic optimization of each detector permitting to analyze elements at trace levels in one layer and as major in a second layer without compromise on sensitivity.

The GD-Profiler 2™ provides fast, simultaneous analysis of all elements of interest including the gases nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and chlorine. It is an ideal tool for thin film characterization and process studies.

The HORIBA Jobin Yvon GD-Profiler™ HR gives the optimum in terms of resolution and number of elements to solve analytical problems even in the most complex matrices. 60 elements (including gasses) can be analyzed simultaneously.

GD-Profiler™ HTP - Your analytical solution in Heat treatment process

HORIBA Jobin Yvon has developed a turnkey product for evaluating the quality of the heat treatment process. This product, the GD PROFILER HTP, is the result of more than 30 years of experience in glow discharge spectrometry (GDS). GDS allows to quickly get depth profiles of carbon, nitrogen oxygen and other elements for a better follow up of heat treatment processes. The chemical composition complements the mechanical tests usually made in metallurgy industry. The targeted applications are notably pieces for automotive, gears, windmills, etc.

HORIBA Jobin Yvon Emission offers high purity nitrogen generators for all JY GD-OES systems. The nitrogen generator allows for the analysis of far UV elements (less than 200 nm). It supplies nitrogen at 99.999% purity at flow rates from 3 L/min to 6.0 L/min.

IMAGE offers the capability of the complete emission spectrum record of any sample in less than 2 minutes. A library of wavelengths permits to identify the elements present in the sample. IMAGE is built-in on any instrument featuring a monochromator.
