Particle Characterization
2009 Academic Stimulus Package:
Through the end of 2009 the HORIBA Particle Size Group
will guarantee the best possible discount
The Particle Size Analysis (PSA) group within HORIBA Instruments enjoys working with and supporting academic customers. To encourage additional interactions we are announcing a multi-faceted program to support existing customers and seek new ones.
For New College/University Customers:
Through the end of 2009, the HORIBA PSA group will guarantee the best possible discount - up to 12% - to universities and academic centers in the United States. Additionally, a free second year warranty will be included. This means universities buy at lowest possible discounted price – guaranteed.
What instruments are included with this initiative? A unique combination of advanced PSA systems ideally suited for research including:
- LA-950 the highest performance laser diffraction analyzer
- DT-1201 acoustic spectrometer for particle size and zeta potential of concentrated suspensions without dilution
- PSA-300 the highest performance static image analysis system
- CAMSIZER the highest performance dynamic image analysis system
- LB-550 DLS system for nano-particle suspensions and emulsions
- SA-9600 simple, easy to use BET surface area analyzer
We encourage potential customers to contact us regarding new system sales at the lowest possible price. We provide high performance instruments and excellent training & technical support to assure that you generate quality data today, tomorrow and ten years from now.
For our Existing College/University Customers:
Academic centers are typically able to share the data generated during their research. Here’s a way for graduate students to get broad-based exposure and make money at the same time. Visit the members section to register and look at a few typical Application Notes. Graduate students (or professors) who are users are encouraged to submit an abstract for an application note showing data from a HORIBA PSA system. If we approve the effort and can create an Application Note for placement on the website, the author(s) will receive exposure (credit in the document that will be seen by many) plus $500 and an iPod nano to show our thanks. Contact Mark Bumiller to submit abstracts. Apply now before summer vacation gets in the way.
We encourage existing customers to participate in our Application Note program. Everyone wins with this program: your students practice technical writing skills and data organization, get their name out into industry, make money, and listen to their favorite music in the process.
