Integrated Management System
HORIBA Group intends to enhance its Integrated Management System (IMS) for quality, environment, occupational health and safety and medical care, and contribute to the realization of a “life of content for all” through supplying products that make social contributions in the aspects of environment, health, safety and energy.
In March 2011 Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) held its IMS surveillance audit in which it was recognized that there had been further improvement in the system of our initiatives since 2004 and that performance has been enhanced.
Below is an explanation of our efforts to deploy this IMS in our group companies and thereby strengthen our foundations as a global corporation.

Promotion of IMS by Enhancement of Internal Audits and Improvement in the Capacity of Internal Auditors
We believe that the key to improving the IMS lies in enhancing internal audits and improving the capacities of internal auditors.
- Confirmation that work is being done in accordance with laws and regulations
- Evaluation of whether activities are being effectively implemented and performance being improved
We are continuing with measures such as designating all newly-appointed managers as internal auditors and reflecting the opinions of top management in the audits. We will continue to improve the capacities of our internal auditors and further enhance the management system.

IMS Deployment in Domestic and Overseas Group Companies
As part of its “group management”, the HORIBA Group is currently going on the establishment and operation of a “Domestic Group IMS” since 2011.
In line with this initiative, group companies in Japan and the rest of the world are striving to acquire ISO certification as the foundation on which to operate the IMS. The current situation is shown below.

With regard to domestic group companies during fiscal 2009, HORIBA Advanced Techno, Co., Ltd. acquired the occupational health and safety certification OHSAS18001 in January 2009 and acquired IMS certification that integrates the three standards of quality, environment and occupational health and safety in January 2010.
With regard to overseas group companies, HORIBA ABX S.A.S.(France) acquired the environment certification ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 in August 2009 and acquired IMS certification in March 2010.Also HORIBA France SARL(France),HORIBA Jobin Yvon S.A.S.(France),HORIBA GmbH(Austria) acquired ISO14001 and HORIBA GmbH(Austria) acquired OHSAS18001 at the same time. Some Europe group companies that have acquired the quality certification ISO9001 and ISO14001 haven't acquired IMS but started manage based on IMS manual.
Our major production bases are aiming to acquire accreditation for the ISO9001 quality standard and the ISO14001 environmental standard.
Also, in August 2009 the CS HQ at our group company HORIBA Techno Service Co., Ltd.was accredited by the International Accreditation Japan of National Institute of Technology and Evaluation as a CAB for ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (ASNITE 0033C Calibration of Emission test facilities *)
