Isoprothiolane
Overview
Isoprothiolane is one of fungicides for Blast disease and is also used as a dithiolane pesticide. It is used for cultivation of rice plant because of its effect to brown planthoppers. This kit allows an easy, rapid (within 2 hours), sensitive, quantitative, multi-sample analysis of isoprothiolane that remains in farm products. This kit is best applied for inspection at delivery time/prior to processing or primary screening in production sites.
Features
Comparison with instrumental analysis
While instrumental analysis offers high accuracy, it requires complicated and time-consuming pretreatment techniques, and sophisticated instrument operation as well as, large quantities of hexane or acetic ether as organic solvents and a wide variety of solvents. The simpler pretreatment required for kit saves significant time. Additionally, only a small quantity of methanol is required as an extraction solvent for analyzing Isoprothiolane.

Application examples
The figures show the comparison between standard curves with 10% methanol and reaction curves drawn with methanol extract of isoprothiolane –added farm products (diluted to 10% methanol equivalent). The overlapping curves; demonstrate the suitability of this kit for analyzing trace isoprothiolane without any interference from the original produce.
