Isoxathion
Overview
Isoxathion is an organophosphorous insecticide and is also used for multiple farm products. This kit allows an easy, rapid (within 2 hours), sensitive, quantitative. multi-sample analysis of Isoxathion that remains in farm products. This kit is best applied for inspection at delivery time/prior to processing of primary screening in production sites.
Features
Comparison with instrumental analysis
While instrumental analysis offers high accuracy, it requires complicated and time- consuming pretreatment techniques, and sophisticated instrument operation as well as large quantities of hexane or acetone as organic solvents. The simpler pretreatment required for kit saves significant time. Additionally. only a small quantity of methanol is required as an extraction solvent for analyzing isoxathion.
Application examples
The figures show the comparison between standard curves with 10% methanol and reaction curves drawn with methanol extract of isoxathion-added farm products (diluted to 10% methanol equivalent). The overlapping curves; demonstrate the suitability of this kit for analyzing trace Isoxathion without any interference from the original procuce.
