Zhong-Qun Tian received a B.S. degree in Chemistry at Xiamen Univ., China in 1982. He went to Univ. of Southampton of UK in 1983 and obtained his Ph.D. in 1987. He then went back to serve Xiamen Univ. and has worked there since. He was appointed as Professor (1992). His main research interests include surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, spectro-electrochemistry, nanostructure fabrication and molecular assembly. He published over 300 peer-reviewed papers with citation over 8,000 times and 7 chapters of book. He has won a number of research prizes including the National Distinguished Young Scientist Grant of NSF of China (1996), Faraday Medal from RSC (2012) and Prix Jacques Tacussel from International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) (2013). He was elected as Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2005-), Fellow of RSC (2005-), Fellow of ISE (2010-). He has served as a member of the advisory (editorial) board for ten international journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Chem. Sci., and an associated editor of Chem. Soc. Rev. and J. Raman Spectroscopy.
