CT Sales Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examines and analyzes customers’ needs; reviews requirements, recommends appropriate solutions and provides proposals for products and services based upon a thorough understanding of system level issues.
  • Performs field promotional work to sell and develop new business. Attends/supports trade show booth as determined by management.
  • Demonstrates products/services and provides assistance in the best application of the product/service.
  • Initiates RFQ and coordinates company technical engineering services with company Inside Sale Department to determine customer needs.
  • May prepare price quotations (ETC), negotiate terms of sales, delivery dates, etc in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Informs management about trends, competitive products/services and pricing; submits projections/forecasts/lost order reports to management.
  • Use of SF.com as primary CRM tool.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in the sales of capital equipment, instrumentation or automotive test related equipment or services, and/or 5 years or more of experience with engineering and applications. 
  • Ability to independently develop new leads, territories and accounts.
  • Ability to accurately assess customer needs and to recommend the most appropriate product or service.
  • Ability to guide, direct and respond to technical queries at the system level.
  • Ability to provide timely and complete product and service quotations.
  • Ability to negotiate and close a deal.
  • Ability to develop new business opportunities and to work effectively with internal departments to provide the highest level of customer service possible
