Functional Safety Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze automotive hardware and software requirements and evaluate designs for functional safety.
  • Modify design to improve functional safety as needed.
  • Execute full life cycle analysis, including hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and calculation of hardware reliability metrics.
  • Apply ISO 26262 and other best practices to manage risk and develop electronic and software based systems for road vehicles, including Automatic Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD).
  • Provide architectural guidance for design at vehicle and subsystem level.
  • Perform analysis to derive test cases, instrument vehicles, and modify systems for fault injection.
  • Run vehicle level fault injection tests and analyze and report results.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or closely related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in functional safety
