Product Specialist

We are currently seeking to fill a position in Piscataway, NJ for a Product Specialist - Optical Spectroscopy.

The job of the product specialist is to provide complete technical support to the customer base in order to resolve customer issues and problems. The product specialist will answer customer phone calls and emails to ensure problems are resolved. The product specialist will also install HORIBA products at customer sites. The objectives are to complete assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner and comply with companies' guidelines: includes customer support, product installations at customer site, product testing as well as QA/QC, service training and technical notes writing.


  • Performs In-House technical support for HORIBA Custom Spectroscopy Solutions products
  • Must attend training on products and help develop service documentation as required
  • Is the primary point of contact to support customers
  • Update system resources (Customer Relationship Management) accurately and timely with necessary updates and information
  • Act as the primary point of contact to field service engineers, to identify and resolve issues
  • Work with product engineers to test and qualify products before shipmet
  • Write technical and service notes to support field service engineers



  • Bachelor or Master's degree in physical or biological sciences
  • Experience with optical spectroscopies such as Raman and Photoluminescence is a plus
  • Experience with optical microscopes is a plus
  • Experience with instrumental control software such as LabView is a plus
  • Familiarity with general electronics is a plus
