Product Manager for Elemental Analysis & Thin Films

Steel, aluminum, corrosion, metallic coatings and now aluminum packaging, drill bits, electroplating for advanced applications. Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GD-OES) was designed to handle metallurgical applications with bulk analysis and depth profiling of metallic coatings. Most recent developments make it possible to characterize materials involving both inorganic and organic coatings and to perform direct depth measurement.

We will review several applications of GD-OES for metallurgical applications: Coated and hot-rolled steel sheets and how it can be used for zinc coating, thickness measurement, as an inspection tool to prevent issues and for failure analysis; aluminum and aluminum packaging for quality control; drill bits for the characterization of coatings; electroplating for the measurement of the depth on ball grid array package.
