Title: Success and clinical applications (Large Platelet Fraction and Body Fluid) of the Yumizen H2500/H1500, analytical cores of the HORIBA Medical Mid-High Hematology range of the HELO* Solution
Ms Mandy Campbell, Sales and Marketing Manager, HORIBA UK, will share the successes and rewards experienced by the Torbay Hospital, UK, during the first installation of the HELO* Solution in the world during the last year.
Dr Sukesh Nair, MD, Professor and Director of Hematology, Christian Medical Center, Vellore, India, will then discuss the features of truly immature platelets and the new large platelet fraction (LPF) on the Yumizen H2500, that can be derived from both platelet impedance (PLT-I) and platelet optical extinction (PLT-Ox) parameters. This LPF parameter not only correlates with the IPF, but more accurately reflects the patient platelet morphology.
Finally, Dr João Pego, MD, Hematology and Hemostasis Laboratory Manager, Clinical Pathology Department, Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, will review the performance of the body fluid analysis on the YH2500 as his assessment of the clinical study in comparison with the DXH-800 and manual methods. The performance validation study, following CLSI H56 guideline, of the body fluid analysis on the Yumizen systems, will be discussed along with quality control material performance.
