The following list of components shows a variety of additional optional features available for the GIANT series.

 

Dynamic Airstream Ventilation System

  • Dynamic ventilation control during braking events 
  • Air volume flow rates ranging from 400 - 8000 m3/h
  • Operates with ambient air temperatures 

 

Auxiliary Drive for Static Brake Testing

  • Additional motor to test the static braking capabilities of brake systems (breakaway torque)
  • Torque range: 0 – 5000 Nm
  • Speed range: 0 – 10 rpm
  • AC motor combined with a transmission

 

Environmental Simulation System

  • Climatic system
  • Temperature range: -40°C - +50°C
  • Humidity control range: 5 – 90% r.H
  • Air volume flow rate: 440 – 4400 m3/h

 

Sliding Test Chamber

  • Housing side walls, and roof can be moved to expose the complete test station
  • Allows for crane/overhead access

 

Water and Dust Spray Systems

  • Replication of realistic operation conditions
  • Various nozzles to simulate fog, rain and soap mixtures

 

Acoustic Panels for Test Chamber

  • Reduced unwanted echoes and vibrations to improve test results
  • Filters out background noise that could falsify the test results
  • GIANT 6000 rating: 65 dB(A)
  • GIANT 8000 rating: 55 dB(A)

 

NVH Measuring System EventScan Brake

  • NVH Analysis software
  • FFT analysis is applies
  • Delivers real-time results and records all test results for post-test analysis
  • 6 Channels and a 20 kHz bandwidth
  • Data acquisition frequency: 51 kHz 

 

Telemetry System

  • 8 Channel Telemetry system for rotating test assemblies
  • Designed to accommodate Type K and Pt100 thermocouples 

 

Handheld Unit with Touch Display

  • Enables control of the dynamometer’s functions without being at the operator’s computer station
  • Simplifies brake system bleeding
  • The panel extension cable enables 360° dynamometer control from anywhere around the machine

 

Video Camera

  • Enables test monitoring and recording from inside the test chamber
  • Camera system is designed to operate under sub-zero test conditions

 

Disc Thickness Variation (DTV) Measurement

  • Allows for the measurement of the disc deformation and runout during braking events and development during the test
  • 6 capacitive sensors (3 per disc side)
  • Measurement range: 0 – 2 mm
