HORIBA Europe celebrates 10th anniversary in Oberursel

HORIBA Europe GmbH celebrates its 10th anniversary in Oberursel, Taunus. Since opening in 2003 with 70 employees, the company’s turnover and number of employees has increased steadily. Now with 110 employees in 2013, the location’s current turnover in the fields of emission measurement systems, process and environmental technology and semiconductors is around 60 million Euros. To meet the growing demand for green technologies, HORIBA will invest approximately 3.7 million Euros for an expansion in production and storage room during 2013. With 1,000 square meters of additional space for production and storage HORIBA will be well equipped for future growth.

“We have a continuously high demand for our emission measurement systems and the process and environmental technology”, says Hiroshi Kawamura, Executive Vice President of HORIBA Europe. “Therefore we are expanding the headquarters in Oberursel in 2013 and are planning to increase the number of employees to penetrate into new markets such as Russia, Turkey and the Middle East.”

For more than 40 years, HORIBA Europe has supported several industries with its extensive measurement and analyzing technology. As part of the global HORIBA Group, the company imports to Oberursel for calibration to adjust instruments to the demands of the European market. Furthermore, within in-house test cells the facility offers a wide range of testing opportunities such as engine and e-motor test stands as well as a fully equipped vehicle chassis test cell for emissions testing in accordance with international legislation. Numerous customers from the automotive industry utilize the facility to test their products in collaboration with experienced HORIBA engineers.

In the market segments of process and environmental technology, HORIBA offers a wide range of products such as air pollution analyzers, used by environmental agencies to measure the amount of particulate matter in the atmosphere. Continuing with their ‘green’ technology, the company’s portfolio also includes water analysis instrumentation. Through the development of high-level solutions, HORIBA also contributes to the manufacturing of semiconductors, solar batteries and LEDs, as well as the test of liquid crystal devices further contributing to our environment.
