Green Procurement

To /Dear our partner companies which supply materials, parts and sub-assemblies to HORIBA Group

Our Challenge for Green Procurement

The HORIBA Group products are strengthened by environmental regulatory affairs, such as the enforcements of chemical substance regulations around the world.

To fulfill these demands, the HORIBA Group has launched the Green Procurement since 2003, and has asked our partner companies to supply environmentally-friendly materials, parts and sub-assemblies which compose our products. The HORIBA Group continues to purchase from partner companies which make an effort for environmental issues.

In addition, the HORIBA Group tries to comply with law through the surveys of chemical substances in procured materials and compliance with the RoHS Directive. We appreciate your understanding the content and intention of our activity and cooperating with us.

Green Procurement Guideline

The HORIBA Group asks our partner companies to comply with the below and meet the requirements of components, devices and materials which consist of the products HORIBA Group produces and sells.

Requirements for Procured Materials

  • The HORIBA Group requests a warranty stating that “banned substances” are not contained, or are contained at a concentration of less than the regulated value, in procured materials, except in cases where an exemption applies.
  • The HORIBA Group may request you to submit information as to whether “controlled substances” are included in procured materials.

Requirements to Partner Companies

  • The HORIBA Group may request you to construct an environment management system and/or a system to control chemical substances in products in factories and offices where products are developed, manufactured and sold.
