“HORIBA CONNECT – Enabling a Better Point-of-Care Diagnosis” webinar series discusses the use of point-of-care instruments in busy departments and in the community, how point-of-care can improve patients’ pathways in acute and secondary care, and what are the key elements for an effective point-of-care governance. The series is comprised of four sessions:

Session 1: “COVID-19 and POCT - Using FBC and CRP in the Community to Minimise Admissions to Secondary Care” with Lisa Vipond, Royal Cornwall Hospital.
During this session, Lisa Vipond discusses point-of-care and COVID-19, as well as how FBC and CRP can be used in the community to minimise admission in secondary care.

Session 2: “The Utility of Point of Care Testing in a Paediatric Emergency Department” with Sylvester Gomes, Evelina London.
Sylvester discusses the use of point of care instrumentation in a busy London Paediatric Emergency department and its use in patient management.

Session 3: “Effective Governance: Quality, Competence and Safety” with Tony Cambridge, Thornhill Healthcare Events.
This presentation aims to identify the essential elements required to deliver a well governed service. This includes the structure required to deliver the objectives, a review of the governance fundamentals, and cover tips on resourcing services for success. Session 4: “Monitoring and Testing in the Community” with Niall Smith, Britannia Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Niall discusses how the use of point-of-care instruments help manage Clozapine use in the Community and improve patient pathways.
