HORIBA India and RTM Nagpur University join hands for an Industry-Academy partnership in the quest for skilled, industry-ready professionals

The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) and HORIBA India signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 20 October 2022 for a joint industry-academy partnership in the foresight of industry-ready professionals. Various advanced learning professional courses, scientific meets and knowledge-sharing programs will be jointly organized for both academic researchers and industrial professionals by both RTMNU and HORIBA India as a part of this alliance.

The MOU was signed in the esteemed presence of Dr. Subhash Chaudhari, Vice Chancellor, RTM Nagpur University who foresees this association as the door for multiple opportunities for sharing subject knowledge, hands-on training, exposure to practical experiences, joint research activities, publications, etc. between RTMNU and HORIBA India. The faculty of RTMNU and HORIBA India Technical Institute (HITI) have worked closely together in designing the course structure and hands-on tutorials of the various industry-oriented professional learning programs being run by HITI.

Dr. Raju Hiwase, Registrar-RTM Nagpur University signed the MOU on behalf of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dr. Rajeev Gautam, Corporate Officer, HORIBA, Ltd. Japan and President, HORIBA India signed on behalf of the HORIBA Group.

Prof. Pramod Bhujangrao Khedekar, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagpur University along with other senior faculty members of RTMNU graced the occasion with their presence.

Dr. Rajeev Gautam informed the gathering that HORIBA India which is operational at 5 regional offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune, two Medical factories at Haridwar and Nagpur and a research facility named HORIBA India Technical Center (HITC) Pune is open for such joint scientific collaborations. Industrial visits, joint technical conferences, scientific meets and internships/apprentices can be planned after mutual discussions. HORIBA India has signed MOUs in the past with leading academic institutes such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi for its Scientific segment and Angadi Institute of Technology and Management for the Automotive segment for similar industry-academy partnerships. A center of excellence with similar objectives is also operational between HORIBA India and leading medical diagnostic chains such as Suraksha Diagnostics.

Dr. Gautam strongly believes that such industry-academy partnerships can help support the GOI initiative of a self-reliant Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make-In-India programs.
