Overview
The HORIBA AeroComp balance is a platform type balance, incorporating HORIBA´s balance measuring technology, proven and in operation in many automotive wind tunnels worldwide by the leading Universities, automotive manufacturers and racing developers.

Standard Features
- Balance mechanics with 6 load cells
- Balance electronics comprising control cubicle with amplifier system and data acquisition
- AeroCalc measuring and calculation software including graphics program
- PC system with MS WINDOWS operating system complete with AeroCalc measuring and calculation software, and ink jet printer
- Central strut for mounting of test objects
- Turntable as test section floor in balance area
- Factory calibration for one reference point
Options:
- Yaw angle adjustment via precision bearing. Adjustment with a controlled servo motor equipped with angle encoder.
- Angle of attack adjustment via central strut. Adjustment with a servo motor equipped with angle encoder.
- Flange for models near to the floor
- Foundation spacer for adjustment of balance to local situation
- Moveable and height-adjustable foundation spacer for removal of balance from test section
- Ethernet interface to host computer
- Balance calibration for additional reference points
- Special measuring ranges for individual customer requirements
Small and effective
Small models of cars or components of cars can be tested efficiently. But also buildings, ship or aircraft models could be tested and checked for their aerodynamic resistance or behaviour. On this platform basic aerodynamic pre-configurations can be tested and optimized in a very early stage of a new design or a development process.
