Electro - Mechanical Buyer

  • Responsible for purchasing electro-mechanical components used to manufacture analytical instrumentation.  The ideal candidate will have some knowledge and experience buying custom-made printed circuit boards and cable assemblies, power supplies, etc. Secondarily, any knowledge sourcing custom machined parts is a plus.  Having the skills to interpret the basic requirements of drawings for these commodities is also preferred.
  • Obtains quotations, negotiates prices, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
  • Executes replenishment purchase orders and manages changes based on MRP
  • Maintains open line of communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Expedites and/or reschedules deliveries as needed based on changes in the demand plan or requirements of internal customers.
  • Participates in weekly production meetings and semiannual forecast planning meetings with product line managers
  • Resolves any receiving and or invoicing discrepancies on purchase orders issued



  • A minimum of three years experience working as a buyer of electro-mechanical items, preferably in   a manufacturing environment  
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain and or business
  • Must exhibit Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Must be proficient using excel and able to do pivot tables and other similar excel functions in order to efficiently analyze data
