HORIBA Semiconductor's proprietary analysis technology is fully demonstrated in a wide range of fields - semiconductors, medical, environmental, science and engine measurements. In high-tech industries like semiconductor manufacturing, HORIBA provides an extensive selection of process monitors for integration into manufacturing lines that aid the safe production of high performance devices. 

Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced Field Service Representative in Portland, OR. Ideal candidates will have experience troubleshooting basic to intermediate level electrical, mechanical, and optical problems on complex semiconductor equipment or similar systems/technologies.

Members of the field service team are routinely tasked with interfacing with end-user customers to determine their needs and efficiently determine a path to resolution with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Works on day-to-day issues with the designated sales group representative to support regional or national customer base issues as called upon. This daily activity requires integration of sales objectives and development of sales opportunities.
  • Installs, integrates, diagnosis, repairs and maintains HORIBA products at customer sites; performs on-site and/or in-house repairs of HORIBA equipment.
  • Helps maintain in-house repair facilities including maintaining calibration requirements and repair maintenance of test equipment, gas systems, DI systems, in-house test and monitoring equipment, etc.
  • Provides technical assistance and report-based feedback to customers and HORIBA departments, including parts and technical research, applications development and integration, failure analysis and assisting Customer Service group with requests for support and service quotations.
  • When not traveling, position works from our office located near Tigard, OR

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Associate of Science (or equivalent) in Electronics, mechatronics, robotics, optics, or other complimentary technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ of service/maintenance at a semiconductor (or similar industry) company
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical subsystems
  • Basic experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Basic network diagnostic capability (Windows based LAN)
  • Previous field service experience interfacing with external customers is preferred.

 

While travel requirements vary widely for this position (based on customer demand), typical travel requirements for this position will be 50% domestically and <5% internationally (for training).
