SUMMARY: The Logistics Administrator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all aspects of the transportation of goods within the supply chain. In addition, this position has the responsibility to ensure all shipments are moved in compliance with all US laws and regulations.
IMPACT ON COMPANY OBJECTIVES: This position supports regulatory compliance best practices for both inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that freight is delivered in a timely manner and in good condition. Operates in HII’s best interest according to all HII rules, regulations and best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant field and/or a minimum of 3-5 years related experience in logistics, traffic, and compliance. Experience with coordinating domestic and international (import and export) shipments, customs clearance, and knowledge of harmonized tariff codes, duties, and taxes are required. Familiarity with FDA and CDRH regulations and reporting preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, reports, etc… Ability to write clearly and effectively. Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information one-on-one and in group settings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures, add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, dollars/foreign currency, common fractions, decimals, compute rate, ratio, percent. The ability to use formulas, graphs, pivot tables, macros, etc... is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply skills and experience to carry out responsibilities and instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form successfully. Ability to solve problems appropriately involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
