Essential Job Functions:
This position is responsible for new spectroscopy product development, including prototype construction, qualification campaigns, improving/working with optical and mechanical engineers on optomechanical designs, and data analysis (resolution/peak fitting, throughput, stray light, crosstalk/imaging distortions, sensor, and electronics characterizations). The ideal candidate is someone with optomechanical experience building optical instruments and working with other specialists to bring new industrial spectroscopy products to volume production. Systems product development work includes spectrometers with diffraction grating & optics assemblies, CCD, PDA or CMOS cameras, light source alignment, and optomechanical optimization, as well as conceiving automated tests (all optical and sensors parameters) through new or existing fixtures and robotics.
