Under the general supervision of a regional sales manager for daily customer activity and response and under full over-site of the designated Supervisor or Manager, installs, maintains, supports and repairs all HORIBA Group supplied equipment or equipment distributed by the HORIBA Group; assists with customer support and product applications functions and any other sales and service activities required.

Essential Functions:

  • Works on day-to-day issues with the designated Sales group representative to support regional or national customer base issues as called upon. This daily activity requires integration of sales objectives and development of sales opportunities.
  • Installs, integrates, diagnosis, repairs and maintains HORIBA products at customer sites; performs on-site and/or in-house repairs of HORIBA equipment.
  • Helps maintain in-house repair facilities where onsite, including calibration requirements and repair and maintenance of repair and test equipment, gas systems, DI systems, in-house test and monitoring equipment, etc.
  • Provides technical assistance and report-based feedback to customers and HORIBA departments, including parts and technical research, applications development and integration, failure analysis and assisting Customer Service group with requests for support and service quotations.
  • Prepares weekly and/or monthly Field Service Reports with sufficient detail for explanation of current customer service and sales issues and providing information used in product quality analysis, examination of warranty charges, utilization of labor hours and invoicing.

Interfaces with customers and internal departments with an emphasis on sales support to ensure efficient and timely sales, installation, repair and invoicing of HORIBA products.

Skills & Knowledge:

Knowledge Of:

  • Requires good knowledge and ability to discuss technical issues, diagnosis, repair where applicable, or apply all products sold through HORIBA STEC (USA) in any segment of sales.
  • Position often requires work beyond a normal workday or workweek.
  • Must be able to travel, both domestically and internationally whenever required.
  • Must be able to drive an automobile and possess a valid drivers license.
  • Must be able to obtain a passport.

Must meet the requirements of one of the following product lines as a minimum:

Dry Process Analysis Equipment: Well-rounded knowledge of semiconductor or industrial uses of process systems and analyzers (such as but not exclusively; RGA’s, FTIR, NDIR, FID, and chemiluminescent analyzers, PLC’s PC’s) including theory of operation, set-up, calibration, repair, diagnosing faults, etc. Experience with PLC programs, DAS operation and analyzers required. Previous experience required.

Wet Process Analysis Equipment: Well-rounded knowledge of semiconductor or industrial uses of process systems and analyzers (such as SC-1&2, HF, UPH) including theory of operation, set-up, calibration, repair, diagnosing faults, etc. Experience with PLC programs, DAS operation and analyzers required. Previous experience required.

Particle Detection Systems: Well-rounded knowledge of Particle Detection analyzers and systems (such as but not exclusively; laser-based analyzers, PC’s) including theory of operation set-up, calibration and laser alignment, repair, diagnosing faults, etc. Previous experience required.

Fluid Flow and Control Systems: Well-rounded knowledge of semiconductor or industrial uses of fluid control systems components, subsystems, or original equipment (such as but ot exclusively; MFC, LFC, Liquid Injection or Mixing, Liquid Sourcing) including theory of operation, set-up, calibration, repair, diagnosing faults, etc. Previous experience required.

Skills Demonstrated By:

  • Ability to effectively and professionally deal with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately perform installations and repairs on HORIBA equipment.
  • Ability to meet goals and commitments
