
Quality Engineer
The successful candidate effectively manages all quality system processes and procedures to ensure company and supplier conformance with quality standards in an ISO environment. Implements effective process improvements and communicates directly with customers on product quality issues. Both domestic and international travel may be required.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures compliance with industry and ISO requirements and the ISO standard, through maintenance and improvement of HORIBA’s Quality System, regular audit of production and service processes and through Registrar audits (every six months or applicable time frame).
- Maintenance of quality records and Management Review process and records.
- Ensure internal audit program is in compliance with ISO standards and HORIBA’s Quality System.
- Investigates and analyzes product and process failures; recommends corrective action; compiles internal and external trend data for submission to Management and applicable overseas manufacturing sites within company.
- Audits company and supplier conformance to quality system requirements.
- Reviews and interprets all applicable quality system standards to ensure HORIBA’s quality system remains current.
Job Relationships:
Communication/Interface:
Interfaces with customers, suppliers, internal departments and Management to ensure compliance with Quality System requirements and product specifications.
Decision-Making & Problem-Solving:
Evaluates quality system issues/compliance to internal ISO, industry and other applicable standards and determines appropriate corrective action or process improvement. Ensures compliance to quality system standards and assumes the role of the customer’s “Management Representative”. Resolves general to complex issues regarding quality system standards and compliance.
Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge Of:
Requires working knowledge of quality assurance and process improvement methodologies, as typically may be gained through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Also requires knowledge of ISO standards and certification process. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; highly PC literate. Strong organizational, analytical and managerial skills. Incumbent typically has a minimum of five years experience.
