Field Service Engineer – California

Under the general supervision of the Field Service Supervisor or Manager, installs, maintains and repairs Horiba supplied equipment; assists with customer support functions; maintains in-house repair facilities.



  1. Installs, repairs and maintains Horiba products at customer sites; performs in-house repairs of defective customer equipment.
  2. Maintains in-house repair facilities, including calibration, repair and maintenance of toxic gas monitoring system, maintaining in-house test equipment, etc.
  3. Provides technical assistance to customers and Horiba departments, including parts and technical question research and assisting with Requests for Quotations.
  4. Assists with QA of products prior to shipment when required.
  5. Prepare Field Service Reports with sufficient detail for customer invoicing, warranty charges, labor and materials charges, and policy.


Skills Demonstrated By:

  1. Ability to effectively and professionally deal with customers and co-workers.
  2. Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
  3. Ability to efficiently and accurately perform installations and repairs on Horiba equipment.
  4. Should have an electronics/optical or technical background. 
  5. Needs to be able to think on their feet and troubleshoot complex scenarios
  6. Good communications skills 
  7. Works well with others
