21741 - EMC Test Technician / Engineer (xEV) Delivery

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for performing testing on a wide variety of electric vehicles (EVs) vehicles, automotive components and sub systems in accordance with various international standards and vehicle manufacturer (VM) test specifications.   

Working within the EMC Team you will ensure tests are delivered to schedule and to HORIBA-MIRA quality standards

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing vehicles, automotive / electrical components in Electrical Laboratories
  • Detailed reviews of test specifications and test plans
  • Executing the tests in accordance with H-M procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accurate log-books and test records
  • Perform quality checks and analysis on test output
  • Customer liaison
  • Project manager liaison
  • Test equipment set up and strip down
  • Support double shift rota – work demand dependant

Other information: 

  • Shift work is a prerequisite
  • Full driving licence prerequisite
  • Training provided
  • Flexible working may be required

Experience

Essential:

  • Electrical Engineering background
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work with detailed technical documentation
  • Familiar with use of oscilloscopes and voltmeters

Preferred:

  • Electric Vehicle / High Voltage background
  • 12V/ 24V Automotive electrical background
  • CAN diagnostic knowledge
  • EMC/RF knowledge
  • Shift work

Skills

Essential: 

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills 

Preferred: 

  • Good computer / IT skills 

Qualifications

Essential: 

  • 3-5 GCSEs
  • ONC/D (BTEC Level 3) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Preferred:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related subject (EMC Test Engineer)
  • HNC/D (BTEC Level 4) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EMC Test Technician)
  • Equivalent time served experience
