HORIBA Semiconductor's proprietary analysis technology is fully demonstrated in a wide range of fields - semiconductors, medical, environmental, science and engine measurements. In high-tech industries like semiconductor manufacturing, HORIBA provides an extensive selection of process monitors for integration into manufacturing lines that aid the safe production of high performance devices. 

Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced Applications Engineer in our Tempe, AZ location. This role interfaces with Engineers, Project/Product Managers, Technical Specialists and customers to ensure product quality and semiconductor process integrity. 

This role is responsible for internal and external applications of mass flow controllers (MFC) and/or internal and external applications of process monitoring products, and related equipment and technology. This includes, but is not limited to service and manufacturing equipment and software as well as customer software and applications.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Translate requirements of technical documents into the equipment and software configurations
  • Act as a technical liaison between customer’s technology groups and HORIBA groups in Japan to expand the business in current and new areas
  • Provide customer consultation for problem-solving and customer specific applications within the scope of supply and warranty requirements
  • Test newly developed product functions and features as part of the overall product quality review
  • Assist Technical Specialist in training activities

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Requires minimum of 3 years technical experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Knowledge of vacuum principles, and experience with gas delivery, CVD, Etch, and PVD systems and processes
