Presently, our HORIBA Scientific OEM Division is searching for an experienced Business Development, Marketing & Applications Manager, a growth-oriented position potentially leading to a Director of OEM B.D. & Applications level after a few years.  This leader will service high-volume industrial customers and contribute to the promotion and sales growth of light detection devices including UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy and imaging products for our North American operation located in Piscataway, New Jersey.  The ideal candidate will possess strong experience extending across multi-disciplinary boundaries in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and will be responsible for the following:

Business development of OEM spectroscopy and imaging products including components, systems, and solutions. 

The ideal candidate is someone with experience in highly technical sales, business development of spectrometers and cameras, spectroscopy and scientific cameras applications, marketing (web content and brochures) and with excellent communication skills to present our products and capabilities to large accounts.

Strong technical knowledge required for Systems including spectrometers with diffraction grating & optics assemblies, CCD, PDA or CMOS cameras, light sources & lasers, and complete solutions such as RAMAN Process systems and Hyperspectral

  • Research Applications for our current products. Initial Focus on the OEM process field (Raman #1), software, and chemometrics (PLS, PCA…).
  • Test and run samples with our products – Data analysis and PPT preparation for internal teams and customers.
  • Establishing specifications for existing and future products with close cooperation with our engineers, and stats work.
  • Business development to penetrate scientific camera accounts, and volume users of Raman process solutions and OEM spectrometers. Validate markets to be targeted.
  • Sales including quotation and customized systems proposals – NRE estimations when applicable
  • Create >3 brochures per year (mix of product brochures and test results) plus app notes.
  • Create new web pages and work on content optimization together with the Marcom team (SEO and Keywords updates, optimization in Google AdWords campaigns)
  • Maintain and develop bridge with our HORIBA Headquarter in Japan (OSS, HAT), our colleagues in NJ Retails (OSD, Raman, Fluorescence, OSS), and with HORIBA France (Raman for our camera business and OEM divisions). A bit of travel is required here too, besides trips in the USA>
  • Maintain CRM: Enter leads (qualified and rejected) in Sales Force. Track sources of leads, applications, products, shows…
  • A generalist who enjoys hands-on work with our products and customer cooperation, with the goal to grow sales while establishing a very positive long-term relationship with key accounts.
