Field Service Engineer – California

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Installs, repairs, maintains and provides customer training for Horiba products at customer sites.
  2. Up to 75% Travel and ability to obtain a passport.
  3. Balance of time spent between home and field.
  4. Provides technical assistance to customers and Horiba departments, including parts, technical questions, and some application support. 
  5. May assist with preparing quotations, technical documents or RMAs as needed
  6. Ability to complete paperwork and Service Reports with sufficient detail.

 

Skills Demonstrated By:

  1. Ability to effectively and professionally interact with customers 
  2. 2 or more years Customer Service experience is preferred.
  3. Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field. 
  4. Strong Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills 
  5. Should have an electronics, optical or technical background. 
  6. Knowledge of spectroscopic instruments or techniques such as Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Raman, Photoluminescence or Microscopy experience is preferred
  7. Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
  8. Needs to be able to think on their feet and troubleshoot complex scenarios 
  9. Ability to efficiently and accurately perform installations and repairs on scientific instruments and willingness to learn HORIBA instruments.
  10. Experience with ServiceMax or similar CRM is a plus
  11. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel , Outlook, Teams or similar. 
  12. Effective Communicator-  Verbal and Written communications.
  13. Willing to Travel in the US or internationally as needed (Canada/Mexico) 
  14. Strong attention to detail
  15. Maintain a professional appearance 
  16. Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds.
