Main Purpose Of Job

Responsible for the maintenance of HORIBA Medical diagnostic systems.

Main Responsibilities And Duties :

  1. To service and repair HORIBA Medical diagnostic system
  2. Carry out breakdown cover and planned preventive maintenance on all instruments. Carry out all necessary updates & modifications to systems as required
  3. Hotline:

    1. Provide hotline/telephone support function as required on a rota basis
    2. Provide hotline/telephone support function out of hours (via pager system) as required

  4. Assist Sales team and Technical team at both demonstrations and instrument installations
  5. Maintain excellent customer service and relationships
  6. Service Application (on Lotus Notes)

    1. Entry of all service reports onto Lotus notes application & error correction
    2. Spare part movement requests (to sales admin team or CSM) as necessary
    3. Order placement for spare parts for both own stock & customers as necessary

  7. Administration

    1. Production of call reports for all tasks
    2. Update call log & service team calendar as necessary
    3. Maintain spare parts stock level and maintenance kits

  8. Liaise with sales admin as required
  9. Follow and maintain HORIBA Medical company and team objectives and KPIs
  10. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance of the role and attend training courses as required
  11. Adhere to HORIBA Medical company and ISO policies and procedures
  12. Adhere to relevant Health & Safety procedures

Person Profile:


  • HNC/HND in Electronic Engineering
  • Customer Service
  • Analytical

  • Ideally: Diagnostics, haematology and biochemistry
  • ISO 9001
  • Software packages: Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Internet
  • Database

Field Based and HORIBA Medical, Moulton Park, Northampton (dependent on task requirement)

37.5 hours per week (However, occasional work/travel outside these hours and at weekends will be required)
