HORIBA Semiconductor's proprietary analysis technology is fully demonstrated in a wide range of fields - semiconductors, medicine, environment, science, and engine measurements. In high-tech industries like semiconductor manufacturing, HORIBA provides an extensive selection of process monitors for integration into manufacturing lines that aid the safe production of high-performance devices.  

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Design electronics hardware, including simulation, schematic creation, parts selection, PCB layout, and testing tasks.  
  2. Identify opportunities to improve product features and quality by performing research on advanced technologies and by creating new designs and methods.
  3. Test and troubleshoot HORIBA’s standard flow control (MFC) products and R&D prototypes.
  4. Support low-volume, domestic PCB production and assembly jobs.
  5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams locally and in Japan. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5 or more years of professional engineering experience.              

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • The ideal candidate will have broad and varied experience in analog and digital electronics design, including:  high speed digital design, serial peripheral communication (I2C, SPI, CAN, etc), analog front-ends for sensor data acquisition, and power electronics such as DC/DC converters and switching amplifiers. 
  • Some experience developing microcontroller firmware in C/C++ language is helpful.
  • Knowledge or experience with state-of-the-art actuator and sensor technologies such as piezo and solenoid valves, environmental sensors, and displacement sensors.
  • Proficiency in PCB layout design with a professional ECAD tool.  Experience with Siemens Xpedition (formerly Mentor Graphics) is highly desirable. 
  • The candidate should be an independent and creative self-starter who can contribute novel hardware solutions in a dynamic R&D environment.
