Product Specialist – Raman Spectroscopy

Our North American Process & Environmental group is searching for an experienced Raman Spectroscopy Product Specialist to support our location in Salt Lake City, UT. The successful candidate will prepare technical information and advice for customers and field sales staff; coordinate field sales activities and documentation for specific product lines, prepare presentations / Sales aids / literature and application notes; and will be able to perform the listed essential job functions.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assists distributors with all sales activities.
  2. Makes sales when applicable, depending on distribution, territories, etc.
  3. Makes technical presentations; coordinates preparation of handout materials relating to the product line.
  4. Researches and responds to incoming inquiries via phone and email.
  5. Organizes and maintains product line documentation.
  6. Maintains knowledge of competitors.
  7. Responds to technical inquiries.
  8. Performs database technical research and information gathering on the Internet, printed media and trade shows.
  9. Initiates requests for replacement orders and may create/review purchase orders for completeness and accuracy.
  10. Assists with product and software evaluation and development.

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  1. Requires experience in vibrational spectroscopy, working with technical data in a sales and marketing environment; typically gained through a Ph.D. or equivalent of 5+ years work experience.
  2. Ability to analyze and effectively respond to complex technical questions.
  3. Ability to maintain and disseminate paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  4. Ability to prioritize workflow.
  5. Ability to coordinate all sales activities and to make technical presentations.
  6. Good working knowledge of internal operations, policies, procedures, and products
  7. Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
  8. Computer literate
