Network Administrator

Our North American Automotive and Shared Services IT group is searching for a Network Administrator to join our team at our Troy, MI location. Occasional travel is required.

The Network Administrator will provide systems, network and other IT support.  This position is responsible for service desk support, administering and maintaining the domestic LAN/WAN infrastructure including laptop imaging and troubleshooting user’s hardware/software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide top-notch customer/end-user support for local and remote users
  • Laptop / Desktop repair and Troubleshoot IT related issues
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Guide end-users on information security awareness
  • Daily actions/update of helpdesk tickets to meet the SLA
  • Interface with end-users to provide technical solutions for productivity improvement
  • Interface with remote IT administrator team and IT application teams for collaboration on solutions and implementations
  • Interface with local IT vendors for solutions and implementations
  • Laptop/desktop/mobile support including:
    • Administers and maintains file, print
    • Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
    • Provide application support to end-users including Windows, MS Office, MS Back Office products, SAP client, etc.
  • Available during off-hours to trouble shoot network or server emergency problems.
  • Maintain daily, monthly, annual backups for servers
  • Create and maintain complete hardware and software inventory of all printers, laptops, desktops, servers, switches, routers, TCP/IP, UPS, cell phones, etc.
  • Create and maintain problem logs and weekly work logs.
  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly work procedures.
  • Create and maintain LAN/WAN diagram using MS Visio.
  •  Pro-actively monitors WAN and Internet connectivity and immediately reports any problem to appropriate carrier or ISP and IT Manager.
  • Rotational monitoring to cover 24X7 support.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support.
  • Provide emergency on call support.
  • Maintain Microsoft Active Directory environment.

 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Network equipment, CISCO/Meraki routers, switches, firewall, Windows 2016/2019, and Windows 10.
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, TI, VPN, AD, group policy
  • Knowledge of PowerShell script is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cyber security trends and remediations is a plus.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Microsoft certified or equivalent job experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science, or equivalent industry experience and technical training.
  • Cisco certification a plus.
