It was at the 40th anniversary ceremony of HORIBA Medical, and with great emotion, that Atsushi Horiba, Chairman and Group CEO of the HORIBA, became an Honorary Citizen of the City of Montpellier, and thus received a medal presented by Mr. Delafosse, Mayor of Montpellier City and President of Montpellier Mediterranee Metropole.

The award recognizes his commitment to the region and his influence in the healthcare sector. HORIBA Medical's involvement in cutting-edge projects, such as MedVallée, Isite Muse and Eurobiomed, was also praised.

Atsushi Horiba received the honor with great emotion and solemnity, which were signs of his great attachment to France.

Growing relationships

The awarding of the honorary citizenship was also an opportunity to recall the close ties between the Metropole of Montpellier, the Occitanie region and Japan.

Indeed, the Vice President of the Occitanie region, Jalil Benabdira, is scheduled to host the Occitanie-Japan Economic Conference this September in Toulouse, and the Vice President invited Chairman Horiba to this conference in conjunction with the Rugby World Cup to take place in the same period in Toulouse.

In addition, AD'OCC, the regional economic development agency in Occitanie region, is planning to launch the Japan-Occitanie Club, which will enable regional companies interested in Japan to improve their knowledge of the country, to meet business partners, and identify market trends.
