Willie is the Founder and CEO of the AVEKA Group. AVEKA was founded thirty years ago as a spin-off from 3M. Today, AVEKA is one of the leading toll-processing companies in the U.S. Four manufacturing sites and 200 employees service the food, agribusiness, and specialty chemical industries. Before starting AVEKA, Willie worked at 3M as a manager for particle processing. Willie received his Ph.D. in organometallic synthesis from the University of Florida. He is currently the President of the International Fine Particle Institute. He has authored or co-authored over 20 technical papers and is the current holder of 50 issued U.S. patents.
