Hybrid Raman
The detailed chemical and molecular information that Raman can offer is widely acknowledged. In combination with other relevant analytical methods Raman can become still more powerful, by combining multiple analyses and offering complementary information on a single benchtop platform.
HORIBA Scientific offers a range of hybrid Raman systems:
Combined Infra-Red (FTIR) and confocal Raman microscopes offer complete vibrational characterisation on a single analytical platform. SameSpot™ technology ensures both Raman and FTIR analysis is made from the same sample position.
Combination with atomic force microscopes from a range of manufacturers allows imaging and manipulation of nanoscale features, combined with Raman chemical micro-analysis. Furthermore, tip enhanced Raman scattering (TERS) allows Raman analysis to move beyond the optical diffraction limit and into the nanoworld.
Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy allows characterisation of a material’s electronic state – combination with the vibrational characterisation afforded by Raman gives comprehensive materials analysis on a single system, whilst retaining the benefits of confocal microscopy.
Combined Raman-Epifluorescence allows fast identification of regions of interest using traditional biological imaging, followed by detailed chemical analysis through Raman.
