Hydraulic Dynamometer

DT-type hydraulic dynamometers are a core component of HORIBA’s Engine Dynamometer portfolio, offering reliable and precise load control across a wide range of engine testing applications. Available in power ratings from 700 kW up to 4,500 kW, these systems are well-suited for testing high-performance internal combustion engines (ICE) and hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2ICE).

Engineered for durability and efficiency, DT hydraulic dynamometers feature a robust, compact design and utilize high-quality materials to ensure consistent performance with minimal maintenance. Their proven reliability makes them an ideal solution for demanding engine dynamometer test cells and advanced R&D environments.

 

 

Flexible Rotation Configurations

HORIBA DT-type hydraulic dynamometers, as part of our Engine Dynamometer solutions, are typically optimized for a single direction of rotation to deliver maximum torque performance across a wide speed range. For applications requiring greater flexibility, configurations supporting two directions of rotation are also available.

While bidirectional systems offer enhanced versatility, their maximum torque is slightly reduced compared to single-direction designs. The number of rotation directions is indicated in the model designation—for example, DT700-1 represents a dynamometer configured for one direction of rotation.

HORIBA hydraulic Engine Dynamometers are available in a variety of sizes and configurations, enabling accurate testing across a broad range of engine types, including:
