The preceding chapter, “the Story of pH,” mainly explained pH related topics regarding the everyday world around us.
This chapter, “The Basis of pH,” explains the basic ideas relating to pH measurement using glass electrode pH meters, requirements for actual pH measurement, and the meanings of the necessary related technical terms. It covers only essential technical terms, each of which is explained in the following sections.
