The Signature Pavilion "Future of Life" at EXPO 2025
HORIBA is thrilled to announce our collaboration as a Bronze Partner for the "Future of Life" Signature Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This pavilion, produced by Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, a leading expert in android development and robotics from Osaka University, showcases the mesmerizing light installations both inside and outside the pavilion. Our air quality monitor and water quality analyzers play a crucial role in this stunning light performance. Discover how our "Analytical and Measurement" technologies are being utilized in these innovative light installations through our exciting new video.
The captivating light installations at the Signature Pavilion "Future of Life" is a result of advanced measurement technologies and the collaboration of lighting experts. By transforming invisible environmental changes into waves of light, visitors can experience these changes in a vivid and immersive way.
The air quality monitor installed inside the pavilion and the water quality analyzers placed in the water basin around the perimeter continuously capture subtle environmental changes. These measurement data synchronize with the lighting inside and outside the pavilion, creating two distinct waves of light. The intensity and color variations of the light waves are directly linked to the data collected by the atmospheric and water quality analyzers, visually representing the otherwise invisible environmental changes.
These two white light waves meet and interact, altering the appearance of the light. This interaction symbolizes the diversity of environments and how life emerges and expands from these conditions. Just as waves meet and merge at the natural “Shore” to create new patterns, the light waves in the pavilion represent the expansion of life.
While the display may lack the dazzling effect of traditional illuminations, its ethereal and enchanting quality makes it a must-see at the Expo 2025, especially at night. Come and experience the magic for yourself!
At HORIBA, our vision is "Joy and Fun for All," which means contributing to creating a future where all living beings can embody our corporate motto: "Joy and Fun." We aspire to create a world where all life-beings on Earth shines brightly. The pavilion’s theme, “expansion of life,” resonates deeply with our vision.
To realize a future where all life-beings thrive, it is crucial to "know" the state of our environment. For instance, when considering ways to improve the Earth's environment, we must first identify the substances causing environmental stress and understand their current state. This is where HORIBA's "Analytical and Measurement" technologies, developed over many years, play a vital role. These technologies allow us to precisely measure and analyze the dynamics of chemicals and energy in the environment.
However, merely explaining the importance of these technologies in words can be challenging. To help people visually and sensorially understand the significance of our "Analytical and Measurement" technologies, we created the light installations for the Signature Pavilion "Future of Life. " Through these installations, we hope to showcase HORIBA's involvement in the Expo 2025 and highlight how our technologies contribute to a world where all life-beings can thrive.
